how to study depends on how you learn best. Organized review courses seem to work well for people who learn primarily through listening, AND they aren’t needed for everyone. [I learn by reading and doing problems -- hated Becker review course and didn't use it at all.]
If you are working at all in the accounting area, I suggest to keep your job. You’ll likely need only about 3 hours a day studying for six months.
You’ll want two different review texts, at least. Shop the financial district’s bookstores.
I recommend "Montgomery’s Auditing" (current edition) plus one of the texts based on past examinations. And your college textbooks, of course.
What I did was read the subject related parts of two or three different texts during the same session and mentaly wrap my brain around the different ways they present the same material.
Btw, when I say every day for six months, I mean literally every day. As you’d guess, I studied more than three hours daily on holidays and weekends. Change subjects or areas when you catch yourself getting tired of the current subject and come back to the original one later.
