How do I go about getting my CPA with a degree in Economics and Geography?
I plan to take up work experience in acconting throughout my course part-time, but how do i make the leap into the accounting world and get my CPA.
Another option i was looking into was becoming a CFA, i’ve read its a gruelling process, if anyone can shed some light on what the process is to becoming either one of these

In order to get a CPA license you need to have at least 24 credits of accounting classes, plus other business courses as set by your state. In addition you will need 150+ college credits. Lastly, you will need about 1000 hours of accounting work under a CPA. So you will need basically BOTH a ton of college courses in accounting PLUS real world experience in accounting before you can become a CPA. One last thing….there is the pesky CPA exam as well. The exam is very difficult and has a lower passing rate that the bar exam to become a lawyer. The process takes years of dedication and hard work. Good Luck
