How much am I looking to pay a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for advice and consultation in New York City?
I don’t want a CPA who hasn’t been around but I also don’t want to be paying exorbitant amounts of money. What’s the happy medium?

fwiw, I’m a loan officer who is 1099′d. I am currently undergoing an audit for the years of 2004 and 2005. i have probably paid my cpa in the neighboorhood of ,000 dollars thus far and i was just curious if I could write off this money as a business expense, or in some other way.
I used my own credit card to buy things that my boss said was Ok for my company. What will a CPA do when I take my transactions, receipt to them? Take money from the company’s credit card account or basically my boss’s account? How will they reimburse me?
So either way all I do is take my credit card statement, my receipt and just walk into a cpa?
I do have my gas receipt I saved when I used my car to go meet clients.
I’m a stay at home mom with an MBA.
1. I get CPA certified, can I do personal income taxes in California, or does that require a separate license?
2. Are there online courses to becoming a CPA without doing a whole college program?
3. How can I stay home with my babies and still earn money as a CPA?
It’s a long story, just wanted to know what kind of access CPA’s have
Ok, long story short, I wanted to know if my future father in law looked up to see how much my parents bring in and that is why they are giving us money, out of pity.
I am a high school student, and am considering taking an interview at a CPA firm, it provides auditing, taxation, business management and outsourced accounting services to many businesses. The business is recognized as a top 25 firm in the DC area. I am doing this to help me get into a good college and make some money. Would this job be really boring? Would it be worth it over the summer?

Do you get more money back using a CPA or not? What advantages do they offer? Are they worth the money?
