What do I have to do in order to become an accountant/CPA?

I am in college and I recently decided that I want to be an accountant. I am currently in college for something else (and haven’t taken accounting classes) so I’ll probably finish this degree first.
After I finish my current degree program, I want to head towards becoming an accountant. Eventually, I would like to become a CPA.
So when I graduate with my current degree, should I go back and get an accounting degree or just take accounting classes?

You should go back and get an accounting degree. Your effort would be useless if you’ll just seat in an accounting class.
