Where can I earn extra 8 credits to meet 150 credit hour requirement to sit for CPA exam in New York?
I have 142 credit hours from my BA in Accounting meeting all the course requirements from CPA guidelines in NY state. All I need is extra 8 credit hours. Can I just take continuing education courses at NYU without going for a graduate degree??? Or maybe CPA prep courses?

NYU is one of the most expensive schools in the country. You can satisfy the requirements by taking online classes from places like University of Phoenix – in fact that’s what most people in your situation do. However, before you enroll, make sure to check with the state that they will accept the credit from that school. Also you don’t need to take graduate classes, undergraduate classes will fill in the requirements, also don’t forget that it is not just 150 hours – you need to make sure you meet the stated requirement of business law, econcomics and accounting classes – so you could have 150 hours but if among them you don’t have enough business law classes you’ll have to take those before they let you sit for the exam. I don’t think CPA prep course gives your credits. First make sure you are not missing any specific credits, then find a cheap online class to take those credits in, then make sure NY state accepts credits from that school.
Technically, as long as you meet the minimum accounting and business classes requirement, your extra coursework can be in anything. NYU is a very expensive school, so it might make more sense to take online classes from a local community college.
